Skilled Experts in the Application of Above-Ground and Below-Ground Coatings
To complement our pipe fabrication services, Aspire Energy Resources Inc. maintains onsite sandblast, coating, and painting shops; the centralization of these activities in a common location can help expedite the overall construction timeline by allowing clients to receive completed piping systems in lieu of coordinating the delivery of unfinished pipes to their headquarters or a third party facility prior to installation.
Furthermore, these dedicated shops contribute the following to the pipe coating process:
- Sandblasting – cleaning of pipe and metal surfaces; removal of any and all impurities to ensure a good coating bond
- Above Ground Coating – protection of pipe, pressure vessels, equipment, and structural assemblies for better durability and performance
- Under-Ground Coating – external coating of the pipe and structural assemblies to prevent corrosion
Aspire’s abilities for the application of industrial pipe/pipeline coating materials include above-ground coatings and below-ground coatings. These applications are performed in accordance with requirements established by The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) for above-ground coating and the CSA Standard Z245.30 specifications for below-ground coating by NACE-certified applicators. (NACE International is the organization that sets the standards for the commercial sandblasting and protective coatings industries in order to protect people, assets, and the environment from the adverse effects of corrosion).
Our certified applicators are skilled in the use of various types of pipe coating, depending on the climatic conditions and/or locations of the installations, as well as the products to be transported; such circumstances can include but are not limited to:
- High temperatures
- Highly-corrosive soils
- Chemical protection
- UV protection
Some of the more common pipe coatings applied by our specialists are composed of the following materials:
- Liquid-based epoxy coating
- 100% Solids Epoxies (plural component)
- Coatings for Under Insulation
- Internal Coatings for Pressure Vessels and Tanks
- Petrolatum Compound Tape
- Alkyd Primer & Paint Systems
Due to the considerable amounts of time and money invested in the design, fabrication, and installation of pipelines/piping systems, the importance of effective and appropriate pipe coating cannot be underestimated.
